Hi, I'm Kimberly. I'm a crocheter, and I'm building Skeinstead as a cozy corner of the internet for people who love making things with yarn.

Skeinstead helps crocheters save on yarn across stores. I compare the store brands that craft retailers sell under their own names, like Loops & Threads, Big Twist, Yarn Bee and Paintbox, with comparable name-brand yarns, price per 100 yards. Alongside the tracker, I write plain-language guides on yarn weights, hook sizes, chenille quirks and everything else that comes up mid-project.
